A C.A.T.
system in bowling is the way scoring is tracked. C.A.T. stands for Computer Aided Tracking System.. It changes the way
scoring is tracked so it is easier to comprehend by bowlers, spectators, and
writers. The C.A.T. system is helpful because human eye cannot pick up or the
human brain cannot immediately comprehend bowling information. C.A.T.S was
invented by the American Bowling Congress and Women's International Bowling
Congress in Greendale, Wis. The C.A.T. System shows:
- The ball position at the arrows
- The ball position at the pins
- The initial velocity of the ball when it leaves the bolwers hand
- The launch angle of the ball from the foul line
- The entry angle at the pins
- The rotation of the ball as it travels sixty feet to the pins
- The pins left standing
